The Society
The University of Warwick Folk Society has several different branches.
We have a brilliant folk band for people who want to play folk music, whether you're an experienced musician or have never even seen a musical instument before! We also have some talented singers (and others not so talented!) who have a vast array of folk songs up their sleeves, however, some should only be sung in the graduate after a pint, or two, or three, or four, and not in the presence of polite company (you do not have to drink to join our society, we have plenty of sober people. Well... one perhaps).
At least once a term we have a good old knees-up at the Warwick Folk Ceilidh! This is THE night of the term and all the moves are easy to pick up with no prior experience needed. But if you want to plish up some of your moves, or learn some more complicated dances we hold weekly sessions which are always great fun!
